Jul. 13th, 2025 04:41 pmreignbows[ it's late in the night. jing yuan, for as drowsy a man as he is, often does not get to bed until quite late into the evening, but it is well past even his bedtime now, and he is fast asleep. the book he had been reading lies open on the covers beside him, and jing yuan sleeps comfortably beneath them, one arm flung across his eyes, the room itself dark and quiet, save for the sounds of crickets and frogs that float in through the glass door leading to his private courtyard garden.
it's been a long day.
a long week, really. his work always keeps him busy, but yanqing has been on his mind as well - the boy has been behaving strangely. a little more aloof. distracted while training.
jing yuan knows what it must mean.. he must finally be reaching the point of determination, more than old enough now to begin displaying the characteristics of his upcoming station. of course, everyone - including yanqing himself - assumes that he will surely develop into an alpha, but jing yuan knows better than to trust in stereotypes. he does not care what designation yanqing grows into, all he cares about is that his apprentice is healthy, and happy, and safe.
the door creaks open, cutting through the chirp of insects, and jing yuan stirs, blinking blearily into the darkness. of course, it can only be one person. the staff do not stay here overnight, only he and yanqing live here in the manor permanently. ]

Suitability: Blade will fit in here all too well, to be perfectly honest. Not only has he grown accustomed to working with a team in canon, he's also seen plenty of horror, blood, and pain along his long life. He's strong and ruthless, willing to do nearly whatever it takes to reach his goals, no matter who or what might stand in his way. He has killed countless people and committed heinous sins in order to progress the Stellaron Hunters' agenda, and he won't fail to do the same here.
Weaknesses:
Madness: Blade is mara-struck, meaning without intervention he has fits of memory loss and insanity.
Antisocial: He's incredibly hard to get close with, and while he's capable of working with a team, he won't easily let anyone nearer than is professionally necessary.
Death Wish: Quite literally, Blade has been seeking a way to permanently die for over seven hundred years now, a deep desire which is easily exploited.
Strengths:
Physical: Blade is a tall, broad, strong man, tough and resilient even despite his regenerative capabilities - he was a master blacksmith in his early years, and still retains those skills, even if his broken hands make delicate work difficult.
Perseverance: This man has been on the hunt for one specific person for centuries, without straying - anything he sets his mind to he will see done.
Intelligence: For all that the mara drives him mad on occasion, Blade is actually quite a perceptive and thoughtful, poetic and sharp.
TEAM INFO:
Team Suitability: Yes, Blade is very much a team player! While he spent the majority of this life in a state of mara-induced madness, hunting down his prey like a rabid dog, once he was invited to the Stellaron Hunters he began to learn how to work with a team again, as he had before he became mara-struck. Though he can be standoffish, callous and sharp, he has no problem taking orders from those he deems worthy of it, and can work well with others to see a task fulfilled.
What kind of team dynamic do you want? I'm open to all sorts of interactions honestly, so I'm not picky, but Blade would pair interestingly with soft understanding types, or people as to-the-point as he is, willing to take the reins. People he would feel inclined to protect would be interesting as well - those who seem young or vulnerable in some way. Really though, he works best in a team where he's kind of the man standing emoji while everyone else is chaotic and silly and colorful all around him.

Note: Hello friend, so Bladie here has a bit of an issue when it comes to being mara-struck. It builds up in him, triggered especially by memories from his past, and if the mara boils up enough to overtake him he can become uncontrollably violent. Killing him seems to calm him down a bit, and also mind-control abilities that can leash him or suppress his memories also keep the mara at bay. Would the setting suppress his mara naturally, or would you like to address it in some other fun and fancy way? Or not address it, I'm easy tbh, I just thought this was something I should bring up with you! Since it's kind of a biological thing in a way, moreso than a "power", but I'm down to handle it however you like!
